Municeddhe
A prized dish consisting of snails, called municeddhe because their color resembles that of the Franciscan monks’ habit. They are prepared in a variety of ways: roasted, boiled or cooked in sauce, and are usually accompanied with wheat bread.

Similar to a vol-au-vent, it consists of a crispy puff pastry disk filled with tomato, mozzarella and béchamel sauce and is eaten as street food.
